As long as there’s beer in the house, there’s batter to be made.
Great with whitefish, walleye, trout fillets, shrimp, chicken…
Heck, use it with your bacon and waffles. It’s all good.
1 cup plain flour
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 egg, beaten
1 – 1½ cups beer
Combine flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper in a bowl. Mix in the egg. Gradually stir in beer until the batter is as thick or thin as you want it.
Use it as a coating for whatever you please, then fry it in hot oil.
